QUESTION: "Can you please tell me if a husband/wife is supposed to stay in a marriage if you don't love him or her like a wife/husband according to what the Bible says about loving your mate? I love him/her but I'm not in love with him."

ANSWER: "Falling in love and being in love may be a nice feeling but it isn't the basis or foundation of a marriage. The basis and foundation of a marriage is a spiritual union and covenant between a man and a woman through a marriage ceremony before God."
For this reason (the reason of marriage)
a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh.
Ephesians 5:31 - NKJV

"Now, in marriage there is a wonderful opportunity to allow the love of God (agape) to make the sexual love (eros) no longer a fleeting feeling but an enduring experience between the man and the woman. A couple living together in agape can stay in love (eros) with one another without falling out of it! I have personally studied and prayed about my marriage from the sidelines due to a seppartaion. I have learned to believe that this is a blessing to me and my family. Through growth, I hope to be a blessing to others. I have been blessed with many resources through my intensive research and prayers. The following links are pages that I have found or have been blessed with.

No, you can not learn about marriage from a book. But you can learn from other's joy and pain. You can learn to share your knowledge and values about the importance and sanctity of marriage. Please take your time and visit the links. I am not asking you to follow me but I am suggesting to follow these links. I have done some the research for you. I hope that this saves precious time with your growing children as you journey through the reconciliation process.

The most striking yet obvious lesson I would like to share is that love is a decision.
It is through that decision that your true romantic self will be realized. Once that decision has been made you will realize that it is not YOUR responsibility to change YOUR Spouse.
It is, however, YOUR responsibility to change YOURSELF and pray that God will teach YOU to accept YOUR Spouse just the way they are.
Ironic but beautiful. The magic will come. I am sure of it!

It is my intent to share what I have learned about marriage and family. The most important thing we can teach our children and our society is what we know about marriage. If we are to reduce the rate of divorce in this society and increase the strength of families then we should start with the children.
Teach them the importance of marriage. Teach them what it really means.

Society has made a mockery of God's great Gift called commitment. If you can't handle it, don't get married! IF you are married then TAKE A STAND. Teach your children that too! Fixing families in our society must begin with the children. Remember, in the Bible it clearly states that being single is noble in and of its self.

Thank you Lord for the love you have given us.
We thank you for giving us the power to make the choice to love.
Help us dear Lord to see every day as a new beginning.
We ask for your guidance in all the choices we make today.
Let us treat each other as you would treat us.
We Thank you for this marriage you have given to us,
let us be ever mindful of the gift our marriage is from above.
In Jesus name we pray,
